At SENNIES, we offer flexible placement options tailored to your needs—whether you're hiring permanently or prefer hourly support. Below is a clear breakdown of our fee structure.

Registration Fee

£500 + VAT (non-refundable) for an 8-week recruitment search.

Required for all recruitment searches (8-week duration).

If no hire is made within 8 weeks, no placement fee is due, and the role is closed unless a new registration fee is paid.

Permanent Placements
You are the employer

We introduce you to qualified Sennies based on your brief— you select who to hire.

  • UK Placements: 14% of the Sennie’s annual salary
+VAT
    International Placements: 16% of the Sennie’s annual salary. +VAT
  • Minimum salary requirement: £30,000 per annum gross.
  • Placement fee only applies once you make a hire.
  • You will be responsible for paying your Sennie directly at a gross hourly rate (in the UK usually between £17-£25, DOE), depending on experience and agreement—something we’re happy to support you with during the hiring process.
  • For specialist roles (e.g. qualified teachers or therapists), rates may start from £25+ per hour. Please enquire for specific requirements.
Pay-Per-Hour Placements
SENNIES is the employer

We manage payroll, HR, and compliance. We select the most suitable Sennie for you. You’re invoiced monthly, one month in advance.

  • £32 + VAT per hour (Minimum 2+ years of SEN childcare experience).
  • Hourly rates vary for Sennies with specialist qualifications (e.g. teachers) – please enquire within.
  • Minimum commitment: 12 hours per week.
  • Mileage: 45p + VAT per mile (if a Sennie uses their own car).
  • Additional Costs: Any business insurance required for driving must also be reimbursed.
Temp placements

Short-term roles, such as holiday cover, are handled on a case-by-case basis. Fees vary - please get in touch to discuss your needs.

We understand that consistency and peace of mind matter—especially when it comes to SEN support. That’s why all our placements come with a guarantee to help ensure the right fit.

Permanent Placements

All permanent hires include a 1-month free replacement guarantee.

Want extended coverage?

Subscribe to our Extended Guarantee for just £75 + VAT per month, and receive up to 6 months of replacement cover.

  • Subscription starts after month 1 of employment.
  • Cancel anytime with one month’s notice.
  • Please note: once cancelled, the guarantee cannot be reactivated.
  • Covers replacement if your Sennie leaves or the placement ends unexpectedly. Only one free replacement per search.

How We Match You with the Right Sennie

A clear, supportive process designed around your family’s unique needs.

Permanent Placements
  1. Register with SENNIES (includes £500+VAT registration fee and completion of an online profile).
  2. Sign our information document electronically.
  3. SENNIES will send you a job description to review before we post the role internally and externally. The search lasts for 8 weeks.
  4. Review candidate profiles sent to your dashboard and email as they are shortlisted by SENNIES.
  5. We'll support you in scheduling interviews and a two-day trial (paid at National Minimum Wage directly to the Sennie).
  6. Once you've selected a Sennie, you can make an offer of employment. We’ll assist with any negotiation if needed.
  7. After offer acceptance:

  1. Receive compliance documents (References, Enhanced DBS, ID etc.)
  2. Pay the final placement fee (14% of the Sennie’s annual salary for UK-based roles). +VAT.
  3. Finalise the employment contract (we can provide a draft).
  4. Set up payroll and fulfill other employer responsibilities — we’re here to guide you through the process.
  5. We’ll activate your SENNIES Guarantee from the Sennie’s first working day and help coordinate any additional resources, training or support packages.
  6. We'll schedule catch-up calls with you and your Sennie to ensure a smooth start.
  7. SENNIES remains available for ongoing support throughout the placement.
Pay-Per-Hour Placements
  1. Register with SENNIES (includes £500+VAT registration fee and completion of an online profile).
  2. Sign our information document electronically.
  3. SENNIES will send you a job description to review before posting.
  4. The search runs for up to 8 weeks. As SENNIES is the employer, we aim to match you with a suitable Sennie within 4 weeks.
  5. Once a match is found, we’ll send over their profile for review and arrange an introduction.
  6. Upon confirmation, you’ll sign our contract and we’ll draft the Sennie’s engagement agreement outlining the weekly minimum commitment and schedule.
  7. The Sennie will complete compliance and be prepped to start.
  8. You’ll be invoiced monthly in advance based on your minimum weekly hours at £32+VAT/hour. If you request a specialist Sennie (e.g. with niche expertise over the minimum of 2 years' SEN experience), a different rate may apply. Overtime is submitted and paid with the next invoice due.
  1. SENNIES, as the employer, handles all legal responsibilities (SSP, holiday pay, maternity/paternity, etc.). You only pay for the hours your Sennie is contracted to work.
  2. Notice Periods:

    • First 2 weeks: 24 hours.
    • After 2 weeks: 2 weeks' notice.
    • After 1 year: 4 weeks’ notice from either party.
  3. Holidays:

    • SENNIES pays the Sennie’s holiday entitlement. During their holidays, you are not charged.
    • If your family goes away and the Sennie hasn’t scheduled this as annual leave, you’ll still be invoiced.
    • Families can select up to 50% of a Sennie’s holiday dates once accrued.
  4. Your registration fee includes up to three replacements per year if a placement doesn’t work out or you decline who we send to you. You won’t be charged during the replacement search period.
  5. SENNIES will schedule regular check-ins with your family and provide ongoing support as needed. We’ll also stay in close contact with your Sennie to help fulfill your employer responsibilities and ensure their training remains up to date.

Additional costs to consider when employing a Sennie for a permanent role

Please note, if you are using our pay-per-hour model and your own insurance, then we cover everything for you at the hourly rate except VAT!
