FOR SENNIES

Your journey starts here — with the tools, roles, and support to match.

Why find work with us?

We do things differently. At SENNIES, you're more than just a placement, you’re part of a supportive community that values your skills, experience, and wellbeing. From thoughtful matching to ongoing training and check-ins, we’re here to help you thrive in your role.

Excellent Rate Of Pay
Sennie Compensation Details:

Hourly gross rate ranges from £17 to £20 depending on the role and prior experience in SEN childcare.

If you possess specialised qualifications, we can negotiate a higher rate of up to £25 per hour gross with our families/clients.

Please keep in mind that many roles offer a salary increase after one year of service. The top end of the salary range in job descriptions reflects the potential growth rather than the initial offer.

Most roles are pro-rata and offer an annual salary based on your agreed hourly rate. We often support our families in calculating your working hours over the year (including school holidays hours if required) so you are paid the same amount each month but based on your agreed hourly rate.

Permanent roles:
  • Families select you through our introduction process, and you will work directly for the chosen family.
  • You will be employed by the family, forming a direct employment relationship with them.
Fixed term contract roles:
  • We will identify the perfect Sennie for the role and provide support and training throughout your employment with us.
  • The specific hourly rate for the role will be communicated to you, starting at £17 per hour gross.
  • It's important to clarify that the family is not your employer. Instead, you will be employed by SENNIES on a fixed-term contract.
  • You will be required to sign a timesheet for any overtime worked beyond your guaranteed hours, and we will ensure that prompt payment is made to you for your services.
  • Yearly pay rises offered up to our maximum.
Freedom to be creative

You will work directly with a family/client and be encouraged to use your initiative and creativity to find ways to help the child(ren) you work with, to thrive within society, reach their full potential and build upon their independence.

Supportive community

SENNIES is run by experienced SEN Specialists, Nannies and advocates. We created SENNIES as a fair, supportive solution to SEN childcare for both families and our Super Sennies. At SENNIES we are here to support you throughout your placement and we aim to create a community of Sennies who can support each other.

Training opportunities

The best child carers are always looking to further their skill set and knowledge, however finding the right SEN course, at a fair price, can be difficult without recommendation.
